The Indian High Commission in Colombo says reports that a water cannon vehicle was imported by the Lankan government under a credit line extended by the Indian government are factually incorrect.
The High Commission in a statement said water cannon vehicles have not been supplied by India under any of the credit lines.
The statement said the credit line of USD 1 billion to Sri Lanka is intended to help with availability of food, medicines, and other essentials amidst the current situation.
The Indian High Commission added such incorrect reports don’t make any constructive contribution to the cooperation and efforts undertaken to address the ongoing challenges faced by Sri Lanka
