
Weather Today (11) Rainfall above 50mm likely in parts of the island
Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts during the evening or night. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected in some areas.
Several spells of showers will occur in Eastern and Uva provinces.
Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the Island.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
The met department requests the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers
